Spread Some Inky Joy!
We will print an edition of A6 postcards with words of your choice and using the artists' collection of type, ornament and printing blocks.
The session will start by setting and printing something to get a feel for the process. You will then have time to explore the collection and plan your design. The next stage will be setting and imposing the design ready for the press. Printing will be completed either on an Adana 8 x 5 Press or the Farley Proofing Press. Each participant will go home with an edition of their postcards and a copy of each other’s.
Tools, equipment and materials will be provided.
Tea, coffee, and light snacks will be provided, but please bring a packed lunch with you.
Wear old, warm clothes and tie back long hair (if applicable)
The workshop is held in my studio which is part of the Outer Spaces network at 3 Redheughs Avenue, Edinburgh, EH12 9RH. Outer Spaces at Edinburgh Park is in a repurposed commercial office space. It is a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow print enthusiasts and share ideas while enjoying a creative and relaxed atmosphere.
About Outer Spaces:
Outer Spaces is a charity collaborating with artists, art collectives, organisations, and commercial property owners to occupy and activate the nation’s empty commercial spaces. Outer Spaces offer access to empty shops, offices and industrial space for artists working across disciplines to research and make their work. The organisation programmes residencies and projects to help sustain and support artistic practice and they commission artists to engage audiences with art practice. Outer Spaces are committed to providing accessible, welcoming, and inclusive spaces and are open to new ideas from artists and partners. outerspaces.org
